Volunteer Scout: A Student Founded Community Service Database

March 13, 2023

As a student, we need to complete a certain amount of community service hours to graduate. While searching for places to volunteer I found it quite challenging and time-consuming to find long-term opportunities that aligned with my interests. The websites available were often outdated or did not offer enough options, so I decided to create a better platform built specifically for students.

After months of research, I developed a website called Volunteer Scout that features a comprehensive database of volunteer opportunities across South Florida. Students can easily search for opportunities based on their interests and skills. Additionally, the platform allows organizations to post volunteer opportunities, ensuring that students always have access to the latest opportunities.

Volunteering is a crucial part of our education and personal growth. It provides us with valuable skills, networking opportunities, and a sense of accomplishment. With the platform, students can easily find volunteer opportunities that are meaningful and fulfilling while meeting their graduation requirements. The platform serves as a tool for students to make a positive impact on their community and personal development. I am also proud to announce that Volunteer Scout has been selected to compete at eMerge Americas’ Startup Showcase, on April 20th and 21st at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
